Environment Conservation:
- The company has a well developed, dense green belt.
- Tree planting is a continuous exercise with approximately 5,000 tree saplings being planted every year.
- The green belt now is home to several species of birds living in harmony with humans in what is now a natural habitat.
- Rainwater harvesting – The plant has been designed for natural water drainage into canals to drain water into ponds. This water not only raises the fresh water table, but also caters to the green belt developed at the plant.
- These ponds also serve as nesting sites for migratory birds.
- The plant has two composting yards, one a regular composting yard and another, a vermiform composting yard. These serve in recycling the greenbelt “fall” and other bird refuse, whilst providing manure for the green belt.
